How I Restored Peace In Choba –Paramount Ruler

The Paramount Ruler of Choba Community, His Roya Highness, Eze Raymond Webilor Okocha has revealed the secret behind the peace currently existing in the community.

Speaking to TPCN in Port Harcourt on Saturday, 11th May, 2019, the Choba Paramount Ruler said the peace in the community came about through regular town hall meetings and consultations with all the stakeholders in the area, such as the elders, the women, the youths and security agents, especially the police.

He said in the course of the meetings and consultations, all the stakeholders resolved to pursue peace and shun violence for the interest of the community, adding that the bad boys who refused to change were made to understand that Choba would no longer be safe for them unless they turn new leaves.

Eze Raymond Okocha further explained that he hates violence with passion and does not allow the youths exhibiting bad behaviour to enter his palace, even if they are related to him.

He said the reason why he is very free with everybody in his kingdom and even moves about without security is because his hands are clean, wondering why he would bother to higher security officers to follow him about as bodyguards when he has neither offended anybody nor soiled his hands.

He said when Rivers State Governor, Chief Barr Nyesom Wike recently announced that any traditional ruler whose community is not peaceful would be dethroned, many people thought it will affect every traditional ruler, adding that those who are worried over the statement are those funding the bad boys and insinuating violence in their own communities.

According to him, some of the bad boys in Choba are no longer happy because of the peace existing in the community as there is no more room for them to perpetrate violence.

“Now, the security in Choba has been beefed up; so the violent youths are not happy. The youths in Choba should be peaceful because that is the only way they can access and make use of what is available to them,” Eze Okocha said.

He thanked the Rivers State Commissioner of Police for his support and partnership that contributed to the advent of peace in Choba Community while praying God to continue to bless his people.
