RSUTH CMD Encourages Nursing Students to Uphold Ethics, Make Community Impact

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), Prof. Chizindu Alikor, has urged nursing students to remain dedicated to their studies and uphold ethical standards in the course of their professional journey.

He made this call while receiving a delegation from the Nigerian Universities Nursing Students Association (NUNSA) during a courtesy visit to the hospital, according to a report shared on Sunday via their Facebook page.

Prof. Alikor praised the students for their proactive engagement, especially their role during the recent Health Week, which he described as a commendable act of community service.

He encouraged them to continue improving themselves academically and professionally, stressing the importance of making meaningful contributions to society.

Led by its president, Uriah Ima-Awaji Oboada, the NUNSA delegation expressed appreciation to the RSUTH management for providing nursing students with a platform for clinical training.

The visit was also aimed at strengthening ties between the association and the hospital, with a focus on future collaborations, sponsorships, and support for student-led health initiatives.

President Oboada emphasized the need for sustained collaboration and sought advice and assistance for upcoming programs geared toward healthcare awareness and student development.

The CMD assured the association of RSUTH’s continued support, marking a renewed chapter of cooperation between both parties, committed to fostering academic excellence and community impact.
