Super Falcons’ goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has joined Brighton & Hove Albion of the English Women’s Super League, just weeks after concluding her impressive five-year tenure guarding the posts for Paris FC.

The English club confirmed Nnadozie’s signing on their social media platforms this Friday. Nnadozie, who earned the distinction of being named Africa’s best female goalkeeper in both 2023 and 2024, is set to join the club on a free transfer once her contract with Paris FC expires on July 1.

Brighton expressed their excitement, with a club statement reading, “We are delighted to announce the signing of Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, subject to the usual regulatory processes.”

The Barclay Women’s Super League extended its welcome to the 24-year-old, while Dario Vidosic, Brighton Women’s first-team head coach, emphasised the depth and ambition the goalkeeper will bring to his squad.

He lauded her as ‘a talented and commanding goalkeeper who will bring consistency and confidence to the team’s defensive line.’

Vidosic further highlighted Nnadozie’s experience competing at the highest level, including valuable participation in various cup competitions like the Champions League.

“We’re confident she’ll add both depth and drive to a squad already full of ambition as we continue to build for next season”, he remarked.

In her own words, Nnadozie stated her strong desire to help the team achieve significant accomplishments.

The Port City News reported that Nnadozie initially joined the French club in 2020 from Rivers Angels, swiftly establishing herself as a pivotal figure in their defensive lineup.

Her reputation for sharp reflexes, composure under pressure, and commanding presence solidified her status as one of Europe’s most respected goalkeepers.

All attention now turns to Nnadozie as she prepares to lead the Super Falcons into the upcoming WAFCON tournament.
