A prominent management consultant in Rivers State and one-time Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Oyigbo LGA, Hon Chamberlain Ulokanjo Nwogu, has emphasized that mass defections of politicians in the country to another political parties cannot guarantee the expected solutions to the seemingly desired national growth, instead, it will create instability and undermine democratic process.
Speaking with newsmen in Port-Harcourt on the mass exodus of defected politicians to another political parties other than their political groups, Nwogu stressed that this would not, in anyway, help the political landscape and system in Nigeria to be stable. He noted that rather than doing so, it is pertinent to help promote national development and integration by ensuring that political parties are rejig for optimum accessibility, which, in turn, brings better years of growth.
According to him, there is need for these politicians to assist in developing policies that would address the aspirations of Nigerians, in as much as, quality service delivery in governance is concerned. He urged Nigerian Leaders to be accountable to those they governed, stating that accountability and transparency in governance matters most in a democratic system of government globally.

Chamberlain Nwogu pointed out that when there is transparency in their decision-making processes to their citizens it would guarantee better and fulfilled results, as well as, peaceful co-existence. On collaboration, Hon Chamberlain Nwogu, explained that collaboration with other stakeholders to promote national cohesion and development with understanding will promote national peace and progress for all and sundry.
He however, admonished most Governors clamouring for defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for fear of being probe as reasons, to drop such unprecedented defection interest to the party. Instead they should bring in their wealth of experience to build a progressive and formidable political party. “I use this opportunity to enjoined them to shelves their ambitions, and support existing political party structures for an effective outing and results in the forth-coming 2027 general elections in Nigeria”, Hon Chamberlain Nwogu submitted.
