The weekend game between Atlanta and Parma might be the last match for Nigerian international talisman Ademola Olajade Lookman, as he looks forward to getting a new challenge.
Ademola Lookman, like most other players has gotten a series of loan spells in England and Germany, and finally found his feet in Bergamo after signing for Atalanta in 2022.
The 27-year old Atalanta forward has seen his career soar since then, reaching the AFCON 2023 final with the Super Eagles, scoring a hat-trick to win the 2024 UEFA Europa League before carting away the CAF Player of the Year Award.
According to the report from football Italia, Ademola has been linked with a return to England, as Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and West Ham United have all registered interest in the former Everton man.

The report claimed that Lookman’s current deal with Atalanta expires in June 2026, and there will be no contract renewal as he falls out with the club’s coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, over a missed penalty kick that saw La Dea exit the UEFA Champions League against Club Brugge.
Again, speculation has it that Lookman and the likes of Ederson Jose Dos Santos will make their final Atalanta appearance on Sunday, with the club aiming to earn almost €100m from the sale of the duo.
Football Italia reported that Atalanta are ready to listen to offers for the pair in the summer, willing to sell Lookman for about €40m and the Brazilian midfielder for at least €50m.
On that note, they are already planning to get replacements ahead of the summer transfer window. It will be good to note that Atalanta are currently monitoring Lyon’s Rayan Cherki, Feyenoord’s Igor Paixao and Celtic’s Arne Engels.
The aforementioned names of players were scouted by Gian Piero Gasperini, who has made it clear he won’t sign a contract extension if he doesn’t get a squad upgrade this summer. His current deal runs out next year.
