FIDA Rivers Advocates Inclusion on World Day of Social Justice

The International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA)Rivers State Branch, has joined the global community in commemorating the World Day of Social Justice, observed annually on February 20.

This year’s theme, “Empowering Inclusion: Bridging Gaps for Social Justice,” highlights the urgent need to address inequalities and promote fairness in society.

Speaking on behalf of the Association, Okorite Briggs-Yobo, Secretary of FIDA Rivers State, emphasized that social justice, solidarity, harmony, and equality are fundamental values that should be upheld within and among nations.

The organization reaffirmed its commitment to protecting and promoting the rights of women and children through legal frameworks, ensuring they live free from discrimination, violence, and abuse.

FIDA Rivers called for more inclusive policies and concrete actions to reduce inequalities, restore human dignity, and foster sustainable development, particularly for marginalized Nigerian women and children.

“As we mark this important day, let us take collective action to bridge the gaps that divide us,” she urged.

FIDA Rivers extended its best wishes to all Nigerians for a meaningful World Day of Social Justice.
