Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has revealed that she has been battling severe pain and mobility challenges for months, disclosing that her condition left her relying on a wheelchair.
Daniels shared the update in a video posted on her Instagram page on Saturday as she marked her 25th birthday, while explaining her prolonged absence from social media.
The mother of two said what began as a minor health issue gradually worsened, affecting her ability to move around freely and, at times, leaving her unable to walk.
“I know many of you may be surprised seeing me in a wheelchair. Well, welcome to another chapter of my life. Let me walk you through what my life has been since many of you have asked questions about my absence,” she said.
The actress explained that her condition took a turn for the worse after a children’s carnival she hosted. She said the pain became increasingly difficult to manage as she underwent a series of medical tests.
“For several months now, I have lost my freedom to move around as I please. It started as something minor, very minor, but eventually led to this,” Daniels said.
“But things took a major turn after the last public gathering I hosted, my children’s day carnival. One test after another, I jokingly started calling myself elaborate. The pain became excruciating. Sometimes I can walk, and sometimes I can’t move. I cried,” she added.

Despite the difficulties, Daniels expressed gratitude for what she described as significant progress in her recovery, saying her faith in God had remained a source of strength throughout the experience.
She also spoke about the emotional impact of losing some of her independence and having to rely on others for assistance with everyday activities.
Explaining her decision to speak publicly, the actress said recent developments in her recovery had encouraged her to share her experience with fans and well-wishers.
“Well, me sitting here today, in front of this camera, sharing this with y’all, it’s because there’s been some really significant developments in my recovery. And I say, thank you, Lord,” she said.
Daniels also revealed that she had moved closer to her loved ones, particularly her children, whom she described as especially important to her.
She added that she initially rented the property but later developed a desire to own it after moving in.
