As part of activities for the 21 days orientation camp, the National Youth Service Corps, Rivers State, has held its Inter-Platoon Cultural Festival Competition.
The colourful event was attended by the chairman of the Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state, Hon. Israel Aposi and other dignitaries.

The corps members representatives from various platoons displayed tribal dances, drama, and adorned themselves with traditional attires that depicts the various cultures they are representing.
Addressing the corpers during the event which was held at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai, the LGA boss urged them to promote, preach and practice the culture of peace and emulate what he described as the impeccable virtues of the governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Aposi charged the 2024 Batch C Stream II corps members on camp to respect the culture of the people of their host community and live in peace with them.

He further expressed admiration of the corpers ingenuity to package the rich cultural heritage of ethnic groups outside of their own, stating that from what he saw on display, Nigeria will be great again if “peace, love, mutual understanding, tolerance and respect for one another thrives in the country.”
On his part, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe appreciated the LG boss for the visit.
Oleghe thanked Aposi for, “motivating and inspiring the corps members.”
He urged them to be a source of light in the various communities they are to serve by promoting decent cultural practices among the people.
