JAMB Warns CBT Centres Against Night Registrations for 2025 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a stern warning to computer-based test (CBT) centers carrying out night registrations for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a detailed statement released on February 9, 2025, Public Communication Advisor Dr. Fabian Benjamin expressed grave concerns over the security risks involved in conducting registration activities after dark, stressing that candidate safety must always come first.

JAMB has observed a worrying trend among several centers operating outside regular hours. Among those identified are Thomas Adewumi University in Kwara State, CBT Centre Otukpo in Benue State, Ebenezer International School in Port Harcourt, Jigawa State College of Education in Gumel, and Lafiagi Emirate Information Technology & Innovation Hub.

Additionally, the Board highlighted the involvement of Zulqud Consult Ltd’s CBT Centre, along with Sani Mikaila Comprehensive College in Jos, Beeps Technology Limited in Ogoja, and FZX Media Consulting Limited within Havilla University. JAMB has urged these centers—and any others considering similar practices—to immediately cease night registrations to avoid compromising candidates’ personal safety.

While the Board acknowledged the eagerness of these centers to accommodate a large number of candidates, it made clear that such enthusiasm should never override the fundamental requirement of ensuring a secure registration environment. “JAMB will not tolerate any violations of the regulations governing the registration process,” the statement warned, noting that no further leniency would be extended before decisive action is taken against centers found engaging in such practices.
