Breaking: Court Declares Rivers APC Congresses Null And Void

Gladys Nweke

Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has declared the ward, Local Government, and the State congresses of the All Progressives Congress, APC, held on the 19th, 20th and 21st of May null and void.

Recall that the Senator Magnus Abe’s faction of the party, obviously dissatisfied with the conduct of the May 5th ward Congress, obtained an interlocutory order from the Rivers State High Court to stop the local government and state congresses from holding.

Justice C Nwogu, who gave this ruling on Wednesday, May 30th, said that the attitude of the APC holding the same congresses barred by the court on a later date was contempt, stressing that it was targeted at arm-twisting the judiciary.
