During the session, the Speaker of the House, Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo, raised concerns about the recent unrest affecting several local government secretariats in the state.

He appealed to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to take swift action against those responsible for destroying public infrastructure.

“Mr. Speaker stated that the Governor had shown exceptional restraints in the face of provocation, which the Assembly aligns with, calling on the Inspector General of Police to carry out his constitutional duties by going after the criminals who have decided to burn down government infrastructure in the state,” Mr. Banigo wrote.
