PEPC: Group rejects judgment, insists that Obi won

By Brave Dickson

A group under the auspices of the Votes Must Count International Initiative has rejected the judgments delivered on Wednesday by the Presidential Election Petition Court.

The judgments dismissed the petitions of the APM, Labour Party, PDP and upheld the February 25 presidential election that put Bola Tinubu into office as president.

The group that staged its protest in Abuja insisted that Obi won the last presidential election and should be declared the winner.

Speaking with our correspondent, the Country Director of the group, Dr Barry Avotu Johnson said they have the authentic results of the presidential election that declared Obi the winner.

He said; “We are Nigerians and this is our civic right to protest against the criminality of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

“Nigerians came out and adopted a political party called Labour Party and also adopted a presidential candidate called Peter Obi.

Our presence here today is to declare this subverted judgment by the tribunal null and void.

“We will not accept any judgment that will not declare Peter Obi as the substantive president-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“The Nigerian people voted for Peter Obi and we have the result as independent agents and we have presented it before the Nigerian people and the international community and there is nothing anybody can do.”
