Labour Party appoints Hilda Dokubo as Rivers interim chairperson

Labour Party has appointed Nollywood actress, Hilda Dokubo as chairman of the party’s steering Committee in Rivers State.

The appointment followed the dissolution of the Dienye Pepple-led state executives for anti-party activities.

Pepple had on Tuesday declared support for his kinsman and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP gubernatorial candidate, Sim Fubara.

Julius Abure, the national chairman of the party in a letter titled “Appointment Of Steering Committee In Rivers State” said “Following the tenure expiration and dissolution of the Caretaker Committee led by Dienye Pepple, a three man steering Committee is hereby appointed as follows:
1. Hilda Dokubo – Chairman
2. Pastor Philip Nyechi Loveday – Secretary
3. Mr. Gogo Wellington – Publicity Secretary

“This appointment is for one month.

“Consequently, this letter supersedes any other letter relating or connected there to.”
