Police arrest two suspected armed robbers, 20yr old cultist on revenge mission in Delta

The Police in Delta State says it has arrested two suspected armed robbers along Issele-Azagba/Ogwashi-Uku road in Delta State.

It was gathered that the suspects were arrested after operatives attached to the Eagle-Net Special Squad of the command intercepted a commercial tricycle with Reg.No.AWK 941 QC and tag No. DT/CT/10550B.

The suspects, Eze Paul ‘m’ 27yrs of Okofia and Henry Dukkwu of Ugbetiti ‘m’ 28yrs are said to hail from Issele-Azagba in Aniocha North Local Government Area.

A statement on Wednesday, by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, said one (1) locally made double barrel pistol and two live cartridges concealed in a bag, one (1) techno phone, one (1) Infinix phone, one (1) OPPO phone, one (1) OPPO phone, and the cash sum of (N5,750) were recovered from the suspects.

In a similar development, the patrol team attached to the Warri Area has arrested a twenty-year-old suspected cultist, Conference Nyerhovwo who was alleged to be on a revenge mission for the murder of his elder brother, Ovie Nyerhovwo.

One locally made cut-to-size double barrel shotgun and four rounds of live cartridges were recovered from the suspect, an indigene of Jesse town in Ethiope West Local Government Area of the state.

“Investigations later revealed that the suspect was on a revenge mission, claiming that some suspected cultists murdered his elder brother named Ovie Nyerhovwo, he further stated that he contacted his friend who lives in Ghana to tell him where he hid his gun.”

“He was on his way to carry out the act when the Police intercepted him and recovered the gun. Investigation is ongoing,” the statement added.
