Two die after sustaining injuries during Police raid in Delta

Police in Delta State have confirmed the death of two armed robbery suspects who were wounded during a shoot-out along Igbuku road in Orogun Community in the state.

It was gathered that the suspects, who sustained bullet injuries during the raid, had died at the hospital while receiving treatment.

It was also learnt that the raid was carried out by a joint team of police and vigilante led by the Divisional Police Officer in Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government Area, SP Obonoh Ndem.

A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.

It said a 22-year-old suspect, Benedict Agbawara of Abbi town was also arrested during the operation.

The police said three locally-made cut-to-size guns, one live cartridge, and one motorcycle from the suspect, while “Investigation is ongoing.”
