Why I visited Wike – Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has revealed why he paid a visit to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

Obi’s meeting with the former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) comes some days after Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State visited his Rivers counterpart at his private residence.

Revealing the details of the meeting via his official Twitter handle, the former Anambra State Governor, disclosed that he met with Wike to discuss vital national issues.

“Earlier, I visited Port Harcourt, to confer with H.E. @GovWike on vital issues of national interest,” the tweet read.

The visit has sparked speculations as there are unconfirmed reports that Wike might dump the PDP following his loss at the party’s presidential primaries.
