NNL: Go Round held by Sporting in league opener

Go Round FC of Omoku kick-started their Nigeria National League NNL campaign with a one-all draw against Sporting in Lagos, a result that impressed the Head Coach of the team Ngozi Elechi.

It was the opening week of the Nigeria National League, NNL season, and Go Round FC got off to a flier in the 35th minute when teenager, Daniel Gotom scored.

However, three minutes later, Sporting Lagos equalized and neither side could add to the scores until full time.

“My boys did very well and I am proud of their performance,” Ngozi Elechi said after the game.

“I know their coach, Uche Okagbue very well and I have taken time to study his philosophy. Also, we had two of our former players with them so it was easy to understand most of their play,” Elechi said.
“We enjoyed the game, both sides played well and my team did okay by getting that crucial point away from home.

“Against Ijebu United next weekend in Omoku, we will consolidate on this away draw,” Elechi said.
