Gunmen attack bullion van in Delta, escape with cash

Unidentified hoodlums have reportedly attacked a bullion van in Otor-Owhe community along the Ughelli-Asaba expressway, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, carting away with an undisclosed amount of money.

The bullion van belonging to a commercial bank was attacked on Thursday at Otor-Owhe on the Ughelli-Asaba dual carriageway in the state’s Isoko North Local Government Area.

It was gathered that the gunmen numbering about 10 shot at the bullion van, forcing the driver to stop before emptying the van’s contents into their vehicle.

It was also learnt that the attackers shot sporadically into the air, causing residents to scamper for safety.

Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Command said they were yet to be briefed about the incident at the time of writing this report.

However, the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, said no money in the bullion van was hijacked by the robbers.
