NDLEA dismantles notorious drug joints in Eleme LGA

The Rivers State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Thursday dismantled notorious drug joints at the Trailer Park axis of Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The raid which lasted for one and half hour resulted in the dismantling of shanties and shades which were serving as smoking joints and hide outs for criminal elements in the area.

During the raid, four suspects were apprehended with a total of one thousand and eighty-five, point six kilograms (1,085.6kg ) of assorted hard drugs and psychotropic substances.

The seized drugs are 19.4kg of Cannabis Sativa, 120.2kg of Methamphetamine (Mkpurunmiri), 40.4grams of Diazapam, 900grams of Tramadol, 3.9grams of Rohypnol, and 1.7kg of Exol 5.

The suspects and exhibits were moved to the Agency’s state command headquarters for further investigation.

Speaking with our correspondent, the state Assistant Commander of Narcotics and Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ogbumgbada called on the public to always partner NDLEA on useful intelligence.

He said, “Let me restate our earlier warning to all drug dealers to desist from it as there will no longer be a hiding place for them.

“We are battle ready as the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA Rtd Brig. Gen Buba Marwa has trained more operatives and also provided us with more operational logistics.

We also want to use this medium to call on the public to give us credible information that will enable us sanitize the society of hard drugs.”
