Pregnant woman dies after falling off delivery bed in Delta

A pregnant woman in labour has reportedly died over the alleged negligence of hospital staff in the Ogwashi-uku area of Delta State.

A video recording making the rounds showed a woman lying lifeless while the person behind the camera lamented the carelessness of personnel at Ogwashi-Uku General Hospital.

The lady, identified as Ann was said to have been left unattended by nurses on duty, who were alleged to have slept off after she was brought to the hospital by her caregiver.

According to sources, the pregnant lady, who had gone into labour was rushed to the hospital late in the night.

However, the nurses on duty at that time had reportedly dozed off after the lady’s caregiver had gone home to pick some delivery items.

The caregiver was said to be shocked as she returned to the hospital only to find the woman dead on the floor while the nurses were sleeping.
