2023: Support Kalabari governor or face problems – youths tell political parties

Brave Dickson

The youths of Kalabari communities in Rivers State have assured political parties of trouble if politician from their extraction did not succeed Governor Nyesom Wike in 2023.

The youths who seem not to be happy with how upland politicians have dominated the Brick House since 1999 till date informed our correspondent that they have started forming advocacy bloc to occupy government house come 2023.

The IYC Chairman of Kalabari Clan, Ibinabo Omoni Jack said: “There will be problem if Kalabari does not produce the 2023 governor of the state.

“It is our turn to rule the state and we will not allow our chance in 2023 to pass us by.

“There can not be peace in this state if upland decided to stay in power beyond 2023.

“When upland complained that riverine has been ruling this state since its creation in 1967, we allowed the upland to rule in the interest of peace and equity.

“Upland cannot be ruling us for 24 years and still want to continue after 2023. That can not happen because there will be problem if that happens.

“We are also using this medium to tell political parties not to underrate the Kalabaris by not fielding candidate from our extradition.

“We will mobilize our youths against any attempt capable of making the next governor of this state not to come from Kalabari.”
