NCAA commends Aero pilot for professionally returning PH-Abuja flight after bird strike

Over one hundred passengers escaped death on Monday as an Abuja bound Aero Contractors flight returned to Port Harcourt five minutes after take-off as one of the aircraft engines was lost to a bird strike.

One of the passengers, Ufuoma Bernard, said Aero Contractors’ aircraft suffered a bird strike five minutes after take-off to Abuja.

Bernard further stated that the aircraft landed back in Port Harcourt airport successful with crew and passengers.

It was gathered that two members of the House of Representatives from Bayelsa state were on the flight.

Others on the flight include the widow of the former state governor.

Recall that two months ago, a Lagos bound Aero Contractors flight returned to Kano after one of the engines of the aircraft was hit by a bird during take-off.

As of the time of filing this report, Aero has not issued a statement on the incident.
