Abducted Imo traditional ruler, cabinet chiefs regain freedom

Umueze Nguru autonomous community in Aboh Mbaise LGA of Imo State, was thrown in jubilation on Saturday morning, as their king, Eze Charles Iroegbu and his cabinet chiefs returned after three days in captivity.

The monarch, his convoy were attacked by unknown gunmen and whisked away to an unknown location on their way back from an event at Ehime Mbano, a neighboring community.

It was gathered that the abductors had failed to establish contact with the royal family nor the community.

The community was in euphoria as the monarch and his cabinet chiefs returned this morning after spending three days in the hands of the abductors.

It was also disclosed that, two palace guards who were kidnapped alongside the monarch, regained freedom.

Police spokesperson, Orlando Ikeokwu, said he could not confirm this information as at the time of report.
