Gunmen kill 3 in Port Harcourt, 2 at PDP rally

A cult battle between Greenlanders and Icelanders cult groups in Port Harcourt led to the death of three persons on Wednesday night.

This as two other persons were shot dead at a rally of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the upcoming Local government elections in Buguma, Asari-Toru Local government area.

The cultists who engaged in a shootout at Victoria Street and Benham street along Aggrey road created tension, forcing residents to scamper for safety.

The cult groups were said to be dragging over the supremacy of the area, SO reports.

According to residents of the area, three persons were shot dead, including a popular businessman identified as Oga Dike and one Biggy.

SP. Nnamdi Omoni, spokesman of the state command said that the number of casualties was yet to be ascertained.

He said that the command has mobilized operatives to the area to maintain peace.
