The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 11

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) enters Matchday 11 this weekend, with Rivers United and Rangers International set for a crucial encounter in Port Harcourt as Warri Wolves travel to Jos in search of a response.

The weekend’s action begins on Friday, October 30, when Niger Tornadoes host Barau FC. Doma United will welcome Ikorodu City on Saturday before eight fixtures take place across the country on Sunday, November 1.

Niger Tornadoes, Doma United Open Weekend Action

Niger Tornadoes will seek another positive result when they host Barau FC at the Bako Kontagora Stadium on Friday.

Barau, meanwhile, will aim to improve on their 1-1 draw against Kwara United in their previous outing.

Saturday’s fixture sees Doma United take on Ikorodu City at the Pantami Stadium. Ikorodu will arrive looking to build on their 2-2 draw against Shooting Stars, in which they recovered from a two-goal deficit to claim a point at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.

Rivers United, Rangers Headline Sunday Fixtures

The standout fixture of Matchday 11 will take place at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, where Rivers United host Rangers International in a meeting between two of the leading teams in the division.

Both clubs have accumulated 17 points, with Rivers United occupying first place on goal difference. Rangers have games in hand, adding further significance to Sunday’s encounter.

The Pride of Rivers will be eager to return to winning ways after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Bendel Insurance, which ended their unbeaten run.

Rangers, meanwhile, will look to strengthen their position in the title race as they travel to Port Harcourt for one of the weekend’s most closely watched fixtures.

Nasarawa United are also on 17 points, making the contest particularly important in the race for the top positions.

Elsewhere, Kwara United will host Bendel Insurance, who head into the weekend following their victory over Rivers United.

Shooting Stars, Enyimba Chase Maximum Points

Shooting Stars return to action against Abia Warriors, hoping to turn their recent draw against Ikorodu City into a victory.

Enyimba International will host Kun Khalifat, while Kano Pillars face a challenging assignment against Nasarawa United at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Inter Lagos will welcome Ranchers Bees in another encounter involving two of the league’s newcomers, with both sides seeking valuable points.

Warri Wolves Seek Redemption in Jos

Warri Wolves travel to face Plateau United at the New Jos Stadium following their goalless draw against Kano Pillars.

The Delta-based club will also be looking to move beyond the disciplinary sanctions imposed after an incident involving a match official earlier in the campaign. The sanctions included a three-point deduction.

Plateau United, meanwhile, will aim to take advantage of home support as they seek a positive result.

Katsina United will host Sporting Lagos at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, with both teams looking to improve their positions in the standings.
