Herdsmen kill 10 in Enugu community, over 20 missing

A late-night attack on Obeagu Community by Fulani herders has resulted in the death of over ten persons.

Community sources told Standard Observers that ten bodies were recovered this morning while over two persons are missing.

Attacks by herders have spiked in parts of Enugu state of recent, with residents either waiting to be killed or fighting back.

Locals said the attack on Obeagu lasted for over five hours. They said that all calls for help from security agents were not responded to.

It was also gathered that operatives of the Eastern Security Network arrived the area late when the herders had fled.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Enugu State Police Command, Daniel Ndukwe said he had not been briefed of the attack.

He, however, promised to get back to us when he gets further details from the police division in the area.
