Chimamanda Adichie loses mother months after father’s death

Mrs Grace Ifeoma Adichie, the mother of renowned Nigerian novelist writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, has died.

Mrs Adichie died suddenly on Monday, March 1st, 2021 in Awka, Anambra State was 78 years old, ABS reports.

“It was very sudden and we are devastated,” a family spokesperson said.

She is survived by her six children: Ijeoma, Uchenna, Chuks, Okechukwu, Chimamanda and Kenechukwu; as well as nine grandchildren, in-laws and many relatives.

Recall that Chimamanda’s late father, Prof. James Nwoye, was buried on October 9th 2020.

Funeral arrangements of late Mrs Grace Ifeoma Adichie will be announced by the Adichie family of Abba community, Njikoka LGA of Anambra state later.
