At least five persons have reportedly died as a three-storey building under construction collapsed in Aba, the commercial centre of Abia State.
The collapsed building is located at Azikiwe Road Aba before Asa Road in Aba.
Sources said one person was rescued from the rubble and is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital while five corpses were recovered.
It was gathered that the victims were homeless residents of the Enyimba City who usually took refuge in the building at night.
The sources added that the incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday after torrential rain on Tuesday.
