NYCN disowns Chijioke Ihunwo, declares support for NLC, TUC protest

The national leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, has declared its support for the Nigerian Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress over their planned protest and strike in Port Harcourt.

The youth body also disowned the state chairman of the Council in Rivers State, Chijioke Ihunwo.

Sara Igbe Sokubo, the national president of the Council in a statement said the youth body will not stop moves by any group to embark on protests.

He said the struggles of the NLC and TUC are for the benefit of the Nigerian Youths and therefore, will not betray the confidence reposed on the Council by the Nigerian Youths.

He urged Rivers people to disregard any action from Chijioke Ihunwo as he is not speaking on behalf of NYCN, Rivers State Chapter.
