Rivers CP directs DPOs to reactivate gender desks

Joseph Mukan, the Rivers State commissioner of police has directed police formations in the state to reactivate gender desk to handle the surging cases of rape and violence against women.

The directive was communicated by Nnamdi Omoni, the public relations officer of command.

Omoni said that the CP has directed DPOs to unsure that cases of rape and violence against women reported at their various commands are urgently treated with respect to protect the victim.

The image maker said that the CP is dedicated to curbing human rights abuses, adding that the command is determined to prosecute rapists.
