22-year-old girl raped, killed inside church in Benin

A 100-level student of Microbiology at the University of Benin, Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa, has died after she was brutally raped and tortured while reading inside a Redeemed Christian Church of God branch in Benin.

It was gathered that her attackers smashing her head with a fire extinguisher and left her unconscious.

The incident occurred 3 days ago around the Ikpoba Hill area of Benin City, the Edo state capital.

The 22-year-old was pronounced dead at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.

Her death has sparked wide-spread anger on social media with Nigerians calling for her killers to be arrested.
