As the news of new cases of Covid-19 makes the rounds in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, some of the rumors making the rounds in Port Harcourt is that one of the Covid19 patient was admitted and treated at Pamo clinics at 300 Aba road Port Harcourt.
Responding to this, the management of the hospital have alleged that the news is fake and should be discontinued.
Through a statement, the management said that although the patient came to the hospital, he was rejected and referred to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) for testing and was also given the contacts of the Covid-19 Rivers state task force.
The letter reads, “the management of Pamo clinics and hospitals Ltd has received the news making the rounds that one chief Kevin Allagoa, a suspected Covid-19 case was managed in our facility and hereby state the following;
- That the story is not true

That the chief Allagoa was never our patients and was not managed in our facility.

That chief Allagoa was presented to our hospital for the first time on March 27th and specifically requested for a Covid-19 testing which alerted our staff on duty for full precautionary measures.

That chief Allagoa was told we do not conduct such test and was referred to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH). And the phone numbers of Covid-19 response team was given to him.

We telephoned him the next day and he said he was also directed by UPTH to contact NCDC and Rivers state Covid-19 response team which he did and was told to isolate himself.”
The hospital’s management said that the reason they are putting this out to the general public is so as to correct the misinformation making the rounds.
