Bloodbath in Ogoni as gunmen kill fisherman

A fisherman, Mr Neeka Bonaloo has been killed in cold blood by unknown gunmen in Khana Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State.

The deceased who hailed from Uegwere Boue community in Khana LGA was reported to have gone out on Friday night for fishing with his colleague, Mr Ogboite and was on the next day found lifeless in his pool of blood in another community called Bangha in the same LGA

The Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman of Uegwere Boue Community, Mr Nu-easi Adoobe who narrated the incident to our correspondent said: “I was still in my house on Friday, April 17 when I heard of several gunshots.

“I called the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Khanna LGA and he responded swiftly with his men.

“The DPO and his men went after the shooters and they ran away through the bush.

“The DPO and his men decided to camp in my community till the next day being Saturday.

A man named Ogboite from Kono community on that Friday night called the deceased, Mr. Neeka Bonaloo who is from our community for fishing and on Saturday, we discovered that Bonaloo has been killed in cold blood.

“After much agitations from us, we discovered his corpse in another community called Bangha.

“The killers had also freed two persons from my community they whisked away on the day they killed Bonaloo and we are trying to know what they experienced in the hands of the killers.”
