Delta Gov’t asks all residents to stay at home

In-line with the measures taken to protect the citizens and residents from #COVID19, Delta State Government has asked all residents of the state stay home from tomorrow, Wednesday, April 1st, 2020 for two weeks in the first instance.

The state government said the restriction is not limited to persons providing essential services namely; Security; Healthcare (Pharmacies are to remain open); Water; Fire; Power; Essential Departments of Media Houses and Telecommunications companies.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Mordi Ononye who disclosed this, said all malls, supermarkets, shops and retailers and wholesalers of non-essential items are to close down.

Additionally, food sellers are to only conduct business from the precinct of their homes and must adhere to social distancing.

The Government said it is focused solely on taking precautionary measures to protect the citizens and residents of Delta State from the #COVID19 virus.

It urged residents to be vigilant and cooperate with relevant authorities assigned with the task of containing the spread of Coronavirus in Delta State.
