Rivers State Government Approves N30,000 New Minimum Wage

The governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, today approved the payment of the new minimum wage of N30,000 for employees of the Rivers State Public Service with the consequential salary adjustments as approved by the Federal Government. 

The Rivers state Commissioner for information and communications, Mr. Paulinus Nsirim, in a statement, said payment of the new minimum wage is effective immediately. 

Rivers state becomes the sixth state in Nigeria to implement the 30,000 minimum wage for their workers. The other states include; Lagos state, Kaduna state, Jigawa state, Adamawa and Kebbi state.
