We’ll correct our lapses against Enugu Rangers-Eguma

Ugochukwu Iwuchukwu

Technical Manager of Rivers United FC Stanley Eguma says he is disturbed with his team’s lack of scoring abilities in the on-going Nigeria Professional Football League matches.

Rivers United is yet to win a league match in the three-week-old NPFL.

United have garnered two out of a possible nine points from their opening three games of the season.

The team played out a goalless draw on the road in match-day one against Kano Pillars and drew one all at home against Heartland FC of Owerri before losing zero one to FC IfeanyiUbah of Nnewi in match-day three.

Stanley Eguma while speaking ahead of their matchday four encounters against Enugu Rangers on Wednesday, Nov 20 in Port Harcourt said he will work on his team’s lapses in the forthcoming league matches.

Stanley Eguma also said that his strikers must learn how to score goals so as to win games.

He noted that the match is a big game because Enugu Rangers is playing on the continent.

“Playing against Rangers is a big game. They are playing on the continent. We are ready and we have to perfect our strategies to see that we win this game as it will bring back confidence into the team,” he said.

Rivers United currently sit in 15th place in the NPFL standings while Rangers occupy the ninth place with four points from their first three games of the season.

The match will kick-off by 4 pm Nigerian time at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Elekahia, Port Harcourt.
