Foreign-trained Nigerian graduates preparing to participate in the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream I National Youth Service Corps programme have been given new dates for the physical verification of their academic and travel documents.
According to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the evaluation will run from Tuesday, September 8, through Saturday, September 12, 2026, at nine selected locations nationwide.
The verification is specifically for prospective corps members whose credentials and travel documents are yet to undergo physical verification.
In a notice shared on its X handle on Thursday, the NYSC advised affected graduates to appear only at the centre and on the date and time stated on their individual verification slips.
The scheme said the arrangement is intended to ensure a smooth exercise and prevent unnecessary congestion at the verification centres.
The designated centres are spread across Enugu, Bauchi, the Federal Capital Territory, Kano, Lagos, Osun, Rivers, Sokoto and Adamawa.
They are:
- Enugu: NYSC Secretariat, 2 Abakaliki Road, GRA, Enugu.
- Bauchi: Shadawanka Military Barracks, Bauchi.
- FCT: NYSC Orientation Camp, Kubwa, Abuja.
- Kano: Bukavu Military Barracks, Fagge, Airport Road, Kano.
- Lagos: NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyanapaja, Lagos.
- Osun: NYSC Secretariat, New Ikirun Road, Osogbo.
- Rivers: NYSC Secretariat, 40 Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt.
- Sokoto: Eagle Officers’ Mess, Giginya Cantonment, Gusau Road, Sokoto.
- Adamawa: NYSC Secretariat, Federal Secretariat Complex, Yola.
Documents graduates must present
As part of the process, prospective corps members are expected to appear with the original copies of all academic credentials and travel documents submitted, or expected to be submitted, during their online registration.

The requirement also applies to foreign-trained medical graduates, who have been instructed to provide their professional licences, registration certificates and other relevant documents issued by their professional regulatory bodies. Original copies of these documents must also be presented at the verification centres.
The NYSC has further directed prospective corps members to submit the original copies of their Evaluation Letters issued by the Federal Ministry of Education at the NYSC Headquarters in Abuja.
Acknowledged copies of the letters are also expected to be uploaded through the online registration process.
The verification exercise is an important stage in determining the eligibility of foreign-trained Nigerian graduates for the national service programme.
According to the NYSC, graduates will only be considered for deployment, exemption or exclusion from national service after they have been physically seen with their documents and successfully verified and cleared.
The September evaluation remains a mandatory prerequisite for qualified overseas-educated Nigerian graduates aiming to join the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream I service year.
