3 dead in clash between vigilante, cult group in Rivers Community (Graphic Images)

A clash between Cultists and Rundele Odegu Security & Peace Advisory Council, ROSPAC, in Ndele community, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers, on Monday, resulted in the death of at least 3 persons.

The cultists reportedly engaged ROSPAC and police officers in a shootout in the early hours of Monday in the Emohua community.

ROSPAC, an imitation of OSPAC was set up to stamp out cultism and criminality in the area which has resulted in kidnapping and killings along the Emohua axis of the East-West Road.

The Monday clash comes days after an early clash between the security group and Deegbam cultists in the community resulted in the death of at least 7 persons while 5 houses were burnt.

It was gathered that other cultists sustained several life-threatening injuries.

Our correspondent reports that the clash forced residents to flee the community.
