Gunmen abduct 4 in Bakana

Gunmen said to be cultists on Tuesday night invaded Bakana in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, abducting at least four persons and carting away six-speed boats carted away.

Francis Deke, the Youth President of Bakana, while narrating the incident to our correspondent, explained that several persons were missing after the gunmen raided the community. He added that the gunmen went away with six boats.

He said the invasion caught the locals unawares, adding that some families reported cases of missing persons with traces of blood littered in front of their houses and they are not sure whether those abducted persons were alive or dead.

According to him: “Yesterday night, at bedtime, Yet-to-be identified invaders were already in community shooting sporadically into the air forcing residents to run to safety places. Nobody could challenge them because we don’t have security people on the ground. They did whatever they wanted to do. After they left, four young men were missing,”.
