Police arrest 20 criminals, recover arms in Rivers State

The Rivers State police command says it has arrested 20 suspected criminals terrorizing the state.

The command while parading the suspects on Thursday said the arrested includes kidnappers, armed robbers, cultists, arms dealers and a four-man gang cattle rustlers.

“The arrest of these suspects was made in the last one week”, the command said.

The state police commissioner, CP Usman Belel, while briefing newsmen said that the command has rejigged strategies and repositioned its personnel for optimum productivity.

Belel also warned that Rivers State shall no longer be conducive for criminals.

CP Belel who thanked residents of Rivers State for their continuous partnership in the state command’s sustained effort in fighting all manner of criminality said “As a command, we will continue to deliver quality policing services to the state to continue to have faith in their ability to protect their lives and property and the discharge of their duties in line with the principles of Democratic policing”

6. No of locally made pistol recovered-14
7. No of pump action guns recovered-3
8. No of magazines recovered-5
9. No of live ammunition recovered- 55
10. No of cartridges recovered- 82
11. No of machetes- 3
12. No of vehicles recovered 3
13. The arrest of suspected cattle rustlers- 5
14. 2 pieces of military face caps
15. No of expended ammunition- 5
16. Cows recovered from rustlers- 10
17. Chemical substances
18. Charms
19. Handsets
20. Rolls of armoured cables
21. Fake hundreds of dollar notes.
