It was a native fun-fair today at the Native Carnival held at Olanna Primary school field Rumuola.

The event which was organized by KHL Empire is the first of its kind in the city of Port Harcourt. The purpose of the event is to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Rivers people to the world.

The Native Carnival brought in young people from different corners of The Garden City to connect, play, network, make new friends and have fun.

The field of the carnival venue was filled with different vendors. There were the bead vendors, the Ankara prints vendors, the Ankara ready-to-wear vendors, drink mixologies, food vendors and of course Bole vendors. (There certainly is no event in The Garden City that the king of street foods in Port Harcourt Bole, will not be made available. Such event is yet to happen in The Garden City).

The event kicked off with a group of models showing off in rich native attires, with most of their bodies adorned with different designs of body arts. There were different games like; Ludo, Scrabble, Monopoly, Whot, counter ball. The event took some of us back to memory lane with some of the games played on the field like; Swell (that is the popular name), and others I can’t remember their name.

Guests at the event did not disappoint, as they all came regaled in their beautiful native attires.

There were other engaging sports like wrestling, score a goal (into a mocking goal post), and dancing competition.

The event was fun-filled as guests had a field day dancing to different jams from the DJ.
