Nigeria’s Falconets will begin their campaign at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland on Monday, September 7, when they face Spain in their opening Group F fixture.
The Nigerian side has been drawn in a group alongside Spain, China and New Caledonia, with the Falconets aiming to progress deep into the tournament and finally win a competition in which they have twice finished as runners-up.
Nigeria has reached the final of the U-20 Women’s World Cup on two occasions, in 2010 and 2014, but suffered defeat to Germany in both finals. Despite falling short of the ultimate prize, the Falconets have maintained an impressive record at the tournament, qualifying for every edition since the competition was introduced in 2002.

Nigeria’s final group-stage fixture will be against New Caledonia on Sunday, September 13, with the match scheduled for 2:00 pm Nigerian time.
