… Says he is acting as an individual in the matter.

The state party chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers state, Prince Peter Odike, has refuted the directive given by the leader of the party and minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, for the party members to support the African Action Congress (AAC) in the forthcoming gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections in the state.

In a statement issued by Odike and made available to theportcitynews, the party maintained that the party still has a chance of being on the ballot since the case is still pending at the Supreme Court.

He also called on members of the party to be steadfast and disregard the directive of the minister as it is his personal opinion and not that of the party.

In his words, “let me inform our members and supporters that the matter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers state is presently pending before the Supreme Court and that the party never held any meeting in which the decision to enter into any alliance with any other party was reached. Let it be known that the minister for transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is completely acting like an individual on this matter”

The AAC’s gubernatorial candidate, Engr. Biokpomabo Awara hails from Kula community in Asari Tory local government area of Rivers state which is of the Kalahari region while his deputy, Mr. Akpo Bomba Yeeh is of the Ogoni extraction.
