Amaechi intensifies plot to oust Wike, pledges support for ADP

Following the protracted crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State which has left it with no candidate and the fate that has befallen Accord Party which paraded Dumo Lulu-Briggs, a faction of the APC loyal to the minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is set to throw its support behind the Action Democratic Party (ADP).

Recall that Lulu-Briggs had hinted that his Accord Party was in talks with the APC in Rivers State so as to forge a common front against the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, headed by governor Nyesom Wike.

However, hopes were dashed on Thursday the 28 February when the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt ruled that Lulu-Briggs was not the authentic candidate of the Accord Party.

The Court also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to delist the name of Briggs from the ballot and in his stead, list Precious Baridoo as the authentic candidate.

This necessitated a change of tactics theportcitynews learnt, as our source which pleaded not to be named maintained that the minister directed his supporters to align with the ADP in ensuring they win the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the State.

It was also gathered that Hon. Gideon Deemor has addressed his supporters in Tai local government area of Rivers State to support the ADP as directed by their leader.
