Woman, 36, beaten to death by preacher husband two weeks after giving birth

A 36-year-old woman, Dorothy Ole Ogoloma has died from her wounds after being physically assaulted by her husband.

The deceased who was married to one Jonathan Ogoloma was said to have put to bed barely two weeks ago before her untimely death. She also had two other children for the husband with the latest making them two boys and a girl.

The incident happened on Sunday in Port Harcourt and the victim is said to hail from Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Theportcitynews gathered that the deceased’s husband who is a lecturer at the Rivers State College of Health Science and also a preacher in Jehova Witness Church took to his heels after learning of the wife’s death.

Relatives who spoke to theportcitynews said the deceased had complained severally of being beaten by the husband but was encouraged to stay in the marriage with the hope that he will change with time.

According to some of the relatives of the deceased, Mr Jonathan beats his wife whenever she complained of his numerous amorous affairs with other women.

The deceased who was a teacher with the state government a relative added, was not the type of person to make trouble with anyone.

They said the incident has been reported to the police and the body of the mother of three has deposited to the mortuary for autopsy.
