Girlfriend killer, Prince Owabie, makes first court appearance

A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt has arraigned 34-year-old Princewill Owabie who murdered his girlfriend, Better Nwabueze and buried her body in a shallow grave in his room at No 391 Ikwerre road Port Harcourt in ObiO/Akpor
local government area.

The suspect popularly known as J-boy faces two-count murder charges and indignity to a dead human body of Better Nwabueze under the cap 37 volume 2 criminal laws of the Rivers state.

In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Andrew Jaja said the court has no jurisdiction to hear the matter, thereby transferring the case to the Department of public prosecution for further advice.

Our correspondent reports that the magistrate adjourned the case to 21st February 2019, and remanded the suspect in prison custody.

Prince Owabie became notorious for killing his pregnant girlfriend, Better Nwabueze, a week ago over a suspected money-for-ritual.
