Omuma indigenes call on Gov. Wike to fix road.

The people of Umuelechi in Omuma local government area of Rivers State have lamented the deplorable condition of roads in the area.

Residents who spoke to our correspondent referred to it as a jinx hindering the development of the community.

They said that movement of goods and services in and out of the town have been rendered incapable due to lack of access to the town.

Speaking to our correspondent at a traditional wedding ceremony between Mr. & Mrs Nwuju Nwosu, a prominent youth leader in the area, Mr Anselm popularly called ‘young dollar’ pleaded with the governor to endeavour and fix the road as it is the only way joining the area to the rest of the state.

He said: “We feel like we are not part of the state anymore. The road that links our town with the rest of the state is in a very bad shape.

“Movement of goods and services have been hampered due to the bad state of the road. We need help”

Also, Mr Steph Ahamamefula revealed that several complaints made to Governor Wike in order for him to fix the roads have fallen on deaf ears.

He, however, hoped that something will be done following the campaigns that started on Sunday 18th 2018.

He said: “We have written severally to Wike yet we are still the way we are. We are hoping that as the campaign season begins, they will listen to us and do something about the road”
