Etche elites call on government to rebuild schools

Some elites of the  Etche Local Government Area have come out to lend their voices concerning the state of the education sector having noticed the rate of dilapidation of schools in their community.

One of such schools is the Government Secondary School, Okehi Etche, where students sit on the floor to learn.

Speaking to our correspondent, Sir. Nwalele Ekenma frowned at the negligence of the school by the government while pointing out that the school used to be one of the pride of Etche ethnic nationality but due to the nature of its present state, most students from neighboring communities find it difficult to attend.

Also speaking, Mr. Chinedu, a youth in the community maintained that the school is more like a death trap and as such needs to be fixed.

He therefore called on the commissioner of Education and all relevant agencies responsible for the education sector to do well and fix the building as it is no longer conducive for learning.

You may recall that earlier this week,some teachers lamented about the poor state of some schools at Egbema where students also have to sit on the bare floor to learn.
