Nigeria goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been left out of the shortlist for the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award at the 2026 CAF Awards.
Nnadozie, who has established herself as one of Africa’s leading goalkeepers, was absent from the 10-player list unveiled by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The Nigerian international had been a regular contender for the individual honour in recent years. Her omission from this year’s shortlist marks a change after her presence among the nominees in the previous two editions.
The shortlisted goalkeepers are Chloe Ng’azi, Michaely Bihina, Cynthia Konlan, Mercy Sikelo, Fatoumata Karantao, Khadija Er-Rmichi, Christiana Uzuma, Adji Ndiaye, Kaylin Swart and Hazel Nali.
While Nnadozie missed out on an individual nomination, the Super Falcons have been shortlisted for the Women’s National Team of the Year award.
Nigeria will compete for the team honour alongside Cameroon, Malawi, Morocco and South Africa.
The nomination comes despite the Super Falcons’ quarter-final exit at the most recent Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The 2026 CAF Awards will recognise outstanding contributions and performances by African footballers, coaches, teams and administrators.
