Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho continued his remarkable scoring form on Sunday, finding the net in Bursaspor’s 4-2 victory over Keçiörengücü in the Turkish 1. Lig.
The Nigerian striker scored in the 50th minute at Aktepe Stadium, restoring Bursaspor’s lead after an entertaining first half ended with both sides level at 2-2.
Keçiörengücü took an early lead through Emirhan Başyiğit’s own goal in the seventh minute, but Amine Boutrah equalised for Bursaspor before Lewis Baker put the visitors ahead in the 35th minute.
Oğuzcan Çalışkan restored parity for the hosts shortly before half-time, setting the stage for Iheanacho to make the difference after the break.
The former Leicester City and Celtic forward struck five minutes into the second half to put Bursaspor 3-2 ahead, before Lincoln Henrique added a fourth goal to seal the victory.
Iheanacho’s goal extended his scoring streak to 12 consecutive league matches, surpassing the previous personal record of 11 successive games in which he found the net.
The 30-year-old has now scored 16 goals in 12 league appearances for Bursaspor this season, maintaining an impressive scoring rate since joining the Turkish club.
The victory also lifted Bursaspor to the top of the league table, as the club recorded its third consecutive win.
Iheanacho will now aim to maintain his form when Bursaspor return to action against Bandırmaspor in their next league fixture.
